While attending University of Evansville, I started working in property and casualty insurance with my dad in 1996. I branched into crop insurance in 1997, and crop insurance has been our only business since 2001. As agency owner, I oversee agency operations and service policyholders. I’m proud of what HCI has become, and I look forward to continuing to evolve and remain a leader in the crop insurance industry. When I’m not at the office, I spend my time farming, horseback riding, and camping with my wife, kids, and grandkids.

I started in Crop insurance in 2009 and have been an agent ever since. I enjoy the evolving crop insurance program and the challenges it provides. I take pride in creating individualized coverage strategies using both MPCI and private crop policies to meet each of my customer's needs. I also take pride in researching and understanding many other programs that are available to our farmers such as the farm bill and other programs at FSA. One of my biggest accomplishments has been building the current team we have to service our customers. From our office staff to outside sub-agents we have the hardest working most service-oriented team on the market. Outside of work I enjoy Hunting, fishing, and spending time with my fiancé Makenzie and our two beautiful daughters Kixlee and Bootslee.

I’m Butch Phillips and a crop insurance agent with Heuring Crop Insurance for over 17 years. It’s my goal to work closely with my clients and really get to know each one to provide the best solutions for their farm. When I’m not in the office, I farm with Heuring Farms. I know the farming aspect as well as the crop insurance and can provide you with the best coverage for your needs. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Audrey, our children and grandchildren. I’m also a member of the Boonville Elks Lodge and the Boonville American Legion.

I have been a crop insurance agent for 10+ years all with Heuring Crop Insurance. I started as office manager to help maintain and improve processes on the data entry side of the office. My role over the last 5 years has transitioned to be more client focused and has turned over the office manager’s position to allow more time in the field with insureds. Away from the office I enjoy camping and boating with my family. I reside in Boonville, Indiana with my wife of 12 years, Courtney, and two daughter’s Kinsley (5) and Kaybree (2).

Phil came to Heuring Crop Insurance, Inc. in February of 2020 from the adjuster side of crop insurance. He began his crop insurance journey in 2012, the year of the drought, as an independent adjuster for multiple insurance providers. As an agent, his insight into the claims process has equipped Phil to help clients navigate the many options presented by multi-peril and private crop insurance products.

When not at the office or fielding phone calls, Phil enjoys gardening, fishing and pursuing his creative side as a nature and landscape artist. His greatest joy comes from spending time with his daughter and son and their families.

Jessica joined Heuring Crop Insurance Inc. as an agent in 2020. As the company has expanded, Jessica has been able to be part of the team that has allowed the company to be more efficient and accurate in servicing clients. With growth Heuring Crop has brought on Sub-agents to the team allowing us to expand our service area. A key point to Jessica’s job is to help services those agents with questions they have to help them give the best service to their clients, along with keeping the main office growing on new processes and efficiency.

Prior to joining Heuring Crop Insurance Inc., Jessica was a staff accountant at Sterling Boiler & Mechanical/Onyett Fabricators. In the 15 years of Jessica’s employment, she was involved in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Job Costing, Bank reconciliations, and payroll. Jessica was able to join the financial teams on large jobsites to help organize job budgets and contract billings.

Jessica and her Fiancé have a farm that they row crops, cut hay and raise horses in Lynnville, IN. When Jessica is not working, she is able to jump in on the farm with planting, harvest or hay. In Jessica’s free time she enjoys riding horse and competing in barrel racing all of the USA. 

Warren Norman is a crop insurance agent with Heuring Crop Insurance. Warren has been exposed to the agricultural industry all of his life, from growing up on his family’s farm ground to learning farm operations in different capacities and experiences in college.

Warren earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture with an emphasis in Marketing and Management from Murray State University. During his time in college, he served in many leadership roles such as Student Government Association President and Student Regent on the University Board of Regents, and was also the recipient of the Hutson School of Agriculture Outstanding Agriculture Leadership Award in 2021. After college Warren interned in South Dakota where he started his career as a commodity broker. He gained experience in commodity marketing and ag finance consulting working in Missouri, Arkansas, and Kentucky with many different farm operations, banks, and lenders with the common goal of achieving economic stability in their respective work environments.

Today Warren resides in Henderson County Kentucky, and is passionate about serving the growing needs of farmers. As the crop insurance landscape continues to evolve, he looks forward to expanding his support within row crop, cattle, hog, and dairy producers, helping them protect their operations and achieve their goals.

I was born on a horse farm in LaPorte IN. I have spent most of my life in Southern IN. Growing up I rode all types & disciplines of horses; I live in North Eastern Warrick County with my husband (Kevin) and our daughter (Paige). We spend our time outside of work trail riding & camping with Boomer (my horse) & Dolly (Kevin’s Mule). Paige is a 911 Dispatcher & Barrel Racer who is enjoying the rodeo life with her amazing horse Javy. We have 3 dogs May (Jack Russel), Sugar (Border Collie) & Kimber (Lab). I started at Heuring Crop in June of 2022. It was scary leaving my former job of 20 years, but 2.5 years in I would do it again! Heuring Crop is a great place to work and is dedicated to providing the best service to our clients.

Originally from Newburgh, IN, Alex is a proud Purdue University alum, earning a degree in Industrial Management in 2021. Since joining HCI the same year, he has streamlined HCI’s quoting process and various front office tasks. When not at HCI, Alex can be found on the golf course, cooking new foods, or following the latest in MLB and college sports.

Coming from an extensive accounting background, I decided to make a career change and became an Office Clerk for Heuring Crop Insurance in 2021. My main role at HCI is to proficiently manage and maintain all of HCI’s customers data, while assisting in numerous data entry tasks and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all records. When I’m away from work, I enjoy spending time in my craft room, using my laser/engraver to make signs and various decorations to sell at craft shows and I also enjoy camping with my family and friends, and spending quality time with my five grandkids. 

Carol Mesker is a part time assistant at HCI. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and a master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. 

She is married to Keith Mesker and they have 3 children. In her free time, Carol enjoys reading, hiking and taking vacations with her family.

I began working for Heuring Crop Insurance as an Office Assistant in January 2023. My husband, Jeremy, and I have been married for almost 20 years and we have four children, Carley, Emma, Westin, and Grant. My part-time position at HCI allows me to homeschool my children and be involved in their extracurricular activities. Both of my sons play travel baseball and I enjoy spending my spring and summer months attending their games. During the fall, I am an assistant high school coach for both of my daughters’ volleyball teams. My family resides in Boonville, IN.

Growing up on my family's farm in Haubstadt, I became familiar with agriculture at a young age. On the farm, we raise feeder pigs and dairy steers along with corn, wheat, and soybeans. When I am not working here at Heuring Crop Insurance, I enjoy helping out on the

farm, it is the main way my family spends time together. In my free time though, I enjoy spoiling my two nieces and nephew, hanging out with friends, and riding side-by-sides.. As of December,

2024 I will have a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Science from Murray State University. With my agriculture background, I always knew I wanted to work in the ag industry by supporting

farmers and their livelihood. Working at Heuring Crop Insurance has been a blessing in disguise because not everyone has the opportunity to work with people who treat you like their family and

help you be the best version of yourself.

Savannah is from Murray, Kentucky where she was raised on her family’s row-crop and dark-fired tobacco farm. Being raised on a multi-generational family farm, Savannah understands the important role that crop insurance plays in an operation. She graduated in December of 2024 from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business Economics and an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. Throughout the duration of her academic career, she participated in clubs such as Agriculture Ambassadors, which further enhanced her leadership skills. In addition to her academic involvement, she also worked countless hours alongside her family on the farm, and worked with her cousins to operate their agriculturally based business, Papa’s Produce Barn. Savannah is excited to be starting her career at Heuring Crop Insurance, and looks forward to all the opportunities to come.

Teri joined Heuring Crop Insurance, Inc. in August of 2024. In her current role, Teri manages the daily accounting functions and performs financial analysis for the company. During her career, Teri has held various leadership positions in both private industry and in public accounting.

Teri earned her B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University (Bloomington). She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) in both Indiana and Kentucky. Teri also holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (“CGMA”) designation through the American Institute of CPAs (“AICPA”).

Teri is involved in her local community and volunteers her time to serve as Treasurer of a local non-profit. Teri enjoys exercising, reading, and spending time with her husband and two children. Teri and her family reside in Boonville, Indiana.

Since 2005, I have held the position of a crop insurance sub-agent at Heuring Crop Insurance, providing service to clients in Illinois and Indiana. I take immense pride in providing top-notch solutions and offering premier crop insurance products in the ever-evolving agriculture marketplace. Outside of work, I value time spent with my wife Deven and our children, Rylan, Drew, and Parker.

I have been a certified Crop Insurance Sub-Agent for Heuring Crop Insurance, Inc. from 2016-present. I have a State of Illinois Producer License and I am certified to sell crop, property, life, and casualty insurance. I have been a Pioneer Seed Salesman for Jasper County, IL. & surrounding areas from 2016 to present. With my wife we operate a 700 Acre Grain Farm. I have an Associate’s degree from Lakeland College for a broad Agriculture Degree. After that, I transferred to the University of Illinois receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Crop Sciences with a concentration in Ag Business. I am an avid hunter and outdoorsman. I reside at the farm in Newton, IL. with my wife, Kourtni. We have one daughter: Eila, and are expecting another child this coming May 2025.

Jim grew up on a farm in Central Indiana attended Purdue University. 

Began a career in the grain industry in 1994 in various roles ending with regional manager with The Andersons.

Started selling crop insurance in 2000 and joined the HCI team in 2021.

Jim lives with his wife Jean in Sheridan, MT with their 4 dogs. They spend most of their time away from work doing things outside in Big Sky country.

Brett Mitchell was born and raised in Clinton, KY where he still resides. Brett graduated from Hickman County High School in 2011. He attended Murray State University where he majored in agriculture and graduated with a bachelor's Degree in 2014. Soon after graduation, he married his high school sweetheart. They now have three children Mallie, Landrie, and Myer, and reside on their farm in Hickman County. Brett has been a crop insurance agent for 7 years and enjoys caring for his insureds. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, golf, and cooking. 

Brian joined Heuring in September of 2021. He became an agent in 1999. With his previous 24 years of ag retail experience, Brian understands the crop input costs farmers are faced with.  He also grew up on a farm and continues to row crop farm today which helps him understand the risks his clients are facing.

In his off time, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.

Owner of Brown's Insurance agency in Hillsboro and Harvel Illinois. Have been in the Insurance industry for 40+ years. We sell all lines of Insurance and I have owned the agency since 2008. 

Brian Brown is a crop insurance agent who is committed to supporting farmers and the agricultural community. He shares his life with his wife, Dacia, and their two sons, Nathan (19) and Kaden (16). Brian enjoys working with people and has a strong passion for farming.

I've been an Insurance Agent since 1998 and sell all lines of insurance including Crop Insurance. Through the years I've worked with several generations of farmers and thoroughly enjoyed watching their growth and success. My most rewarding year of selling crop insurance was 2012. It was heartwarming to know we were able to help farmers when they were facing the biggest challenge in decades. 

I live in rural Raymond IL with my husband, Jeff. We are blessed with a beautiful family that we spend almost all our free time with.

Aaron comes to us from southwest Indiana where he grew up on a working grain and livestock farm. During his formative years he was involved in the day-to-day operations of the farm. Aaron graduated from South Knox High School in 1997 and went on to study Agriculture at Wabash Valley College where he graduated in 1999.

After graduation Aaron became part owner of Carbo-Tech America which manufactures Liquid Fertilizer in its plants in Indiana and Iowa. Through his work at Carbo-Tech Aaron has become very well versed in every aspect of modern production Agriculture.

In his spare time Aaron enjoys traveling with his wife Michelle and daughter Ella as they show horses competing in Barrel Racing, training his Black Labrador Retrievers and Hunting with his son Blaine.

Austin grew up in southwest Ohio on a farm raising row crops and angus cattle. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in agribusiness and applied economics, he moved to Indiana to start a 9-year career with one of the largest grain companies in the world stretched across many geographies including Indianapolis, Lafayette, and the surrounding Fort Wayne area where he and his family now reside. He held various roles in farm direct originations/marketing, grain elevator management, and cash grain trading of corn, beans, and wheat. Earlier this summer, Austin decided to leave the corporate world and take his risk management expertise direct to the farm, helping individual farm families find success with a tailored individualized approach. He soon joined Heuring, bringing a breadth of grain marketing experience coupled with crop insurance to support clients in a well-rounded risk management plan.
